Brenda L. Effron

HeART Diversity Workshop Facilitator

Background

Brenda, who has a Masters in Communications from the University of Texas, focuses on international and inter-cultural communications.   She was the Coordinator of International Student Programs at the University of Texas School of Law for two years and coordinated both study abroad programs as well as incoming exchange students.  Brenda also draws from her experience as a substitute teacher of elementary, middle, and high school students in Edmond.   She also enjoys teaching Special Education students of all ages.

Main Focus

Brenda guides elementary, middle, and high school students through diversity literature/art workshops.  She also facilitates inter-cultural workshops for students and adults.  Her theme is "the heart and the art" of cultural diversity. She has always enjoyed finding creative ways to teach respect for diversity -- through discussion, games, artwork, and songs.  

Availability

Brenda works with students throughout the greater Oklahoma City area.
